The Invitation of Color

I want to see the lines of color relate with one another; finding a focal point to connect yet being individual and to stand alone.

I want to feel them dance as if I am the observer yet the movement of the dance.

I am the hand that is held.

I want to be bold and bright while being pulled into the sunlight on a summer day.

I want to wear sunscreen yet dissolve into the sun.

I want to feel neutral yet absorbing every molecule around me.

I want to react from the debts of my heart.

I want to share that warmth with my designs.

I desire to make you feel comfort like a deep rest as the ocean meets the sky.

I believe you deserve this comfort especially in your home.

I enjoy incorporating texture into my work.

I want you to feel the desire to touch.

To touch, to awaken whatever it is in your focal point.

I want to be pulled in.

I want to pull you in.

I wish for my paintings to invoke, within whatever that means to you.

I want to stand with you in silence listening to sounds of the room.

I want to speak and write in a poetic light breaking the rules of grammar.

Because I don’t see life, I don’t see art with rules.

Not rules with any sort of real truth.

It’s love. Art, design, life is the expression of pure beauty even when it’s tainted.

I want this world to wake me up in the middle of the night to sit up in wonder.

And maybe to paint or design.

I want to fall asleep in awe of what was, and what will be.

I want to move through pain, rejection and disappointment; as I am curious to what it is.

I want to know this moment and everything it expresses.

I want to breath with you as if we are designing our first yet last breath.

I want to feel humble in order to give what isn’t ultimately mine yet with the kindness to give it away.

And as I fumble down this journey sometimes a ballerina in a rainstorm I am grateful to know love, to know art, to know you.

Because I believe it is to know ones true self.

The self we are all created

of in our unique and unfathomable beauty.
